Don’t give me any credit. This isn’t a result of waiting, timing, and patience. There was no “vision.” The only scene I saw was some off-brand Bugs Bunny heads bobbing in the breeze while people slowly filtered through the stalls, most of whom were completely overdressed for the “wintery” weather.
December in the Middle East felt like summer in England.
Read notes from Sean Tucker or Craig Whitehead on street photography. They’ll tell you about finding moments, having patience, and creating a vision of what you want to capture. And I follow that advice… less than 50% of the time.
That’s being generous.
I was out there, wandering around just trying to capture moments of a time when I called Bahrain home.
The bunny-headed dude stole the scene. But it’s the woman huddled under a denim coat, the sign for ice rolls, and a ridiculous amount of string lights that transport me back to a memory I could have easily forgotten.
Taken on 1 December, 2017 in Adliya, Bahrain.

Reply with your own photo. I’d love to see it. There are just 3 rules: one image, no overthinking, bonus points for mediocre lighting.
P.S. I sell prints of my Probably Nothings. If you see something in the newsletter not for sale, let me know.
