The smell of freshly brewed chai karak was coming from somewhere. A little sweet. Vaguely spiced. Insanely comforting.
It’s the perfect late afternoon pick-me-up.
But I couldn’t figure out where the smell was coming from. Wafts of popcorn kept invading my nostrils. And I couldn’t help but follow them.
In an empty space littered with stools, curious wooden benches, and dormant speakers, I found someone else looking for their late afternoon pick-me-up. Back when storage containers were still mostly used for, well, storage, this felt like something new.
Chai karak is so steeped in tradition. And yet fits in so perfectly inside a repurposed storage unit parked at a pop-up modern art festival.

Reply with your own photo. I’d love to see it. There are just 3 rules: one image, no overthinking, bonus points for mediocre lighting.
P.S. I sell prints of my Probably Nothings. If you see something in the newsletter not for sale, let me know.
