But of course.

That was my reaction seeing a man in a thobe flying high above the water using a flyboard, in front of a backdrop that looks both futuristic and historic. 

Don’t get me wrong. This wasn’t an everyday scene. People didn’t commute to work on their flyboards. But when I glanced over my shoulder to identify the loud wooooooshing sound, this sight elicited the most minute of reactions. 

Huh.

What absorbs me now are the layers of the situation. The old dhow boats. The futuristic Bahrain World Trade Center. The dude casually going for a ride on a flyboard. 

The fact that my reaction was “huh” says more about Bahrain than my photo does.
